Kayak Rentals at Captain Cook Monument

Location: Kona, Big Island

Come and kayak the pristine waters of the Kealakekua Bay State Historical Park and the Captain Cook Monument. This is the only kayak rental business at Kealakekua Bay. Book online in advance and we’ll have your rental waiting for you at the Bay. We have our launch site conveniently located at the Bay, so you just show up, enjoy your day on the water, and then leave your kayak with us when you’re done.

What to Expect

Meet the staff at our designated launch site on private bay front property and they will have your reserved kayak ready for you. You will then be given a brief introduction and safety lesson to the bay to make sure you have the most positive experience possible. After that, you will be assisted into your kayak and launched to enjoy a day of snorkeling in the pristine waters off the Captain Cook Monument.

As you paddle along the calm water you will see that Kealakekua Bay is one of the most historic and beautiful places in Hawaii. At the north end is the Captain Cook monument, with the waters off the monument providing excellent snorkeling conditions and hundreds of fish and aquatic species you will only find in Hawaii, specially the Hawaiian spinner dolphins.

All Kealakekua Bay kayak rentals include a dry bag, backrests, life vests and paddles. Snorkel gear is available for rent during booking, or bring your own!
