The Kona coast hosts a diverse array of whale and dolphin species, making its waters some of the most exciting to explore in Hawaii! Join us as we seek out the most exciting cetacean encounters we can find, whilst cruising the beautiful blues offshore.

What to Expect

Departing from the Honokohau Harbor, our custom vessel takes you into the deep blue off the Kona Coastline for an incredible whale watching experience. During the tour we will get within close viewing distance to witness fluke tale dives, pectoral fin flaps, and even a full breech!

During the tour, our professional naturalists are here to educate, and enhance your experience. With their in-depth knowledge of the diverse marine life here in Hawaii, you’ll leave with a greater understanding of, and respect for, the wildlife you encounter.

As we go, we will be scientifically documenting the whales. Our crew is proud of our ongoing contributions to research via photo-identification. This powerful method has taught us so much about the life history and movements of cetaceans worldwide, and the more data we collect, the more mysteries we unravel. Be a part of the process, as we collect accurate and meaningful data from each of our encounters to aid ongoing studies.

We will also place our electronic hydrophone underwater and then broadcast the whale songs through our onboard speaker system. The humpback breeding season is one of the few opportunities to experience one of nature’s great wonders, the symphony of humpback whale song. There is nothing quite like listening to the music of the whales, while watching them do their thing.
