Kona Volcano Park & Waterfall Tour By:  KapohoKine Adventures

Book now!

Want to see it all in one day? This tour covers everything that makes Hawai`i Island unique. Enjoy a scenic drive along the Hamakua coast on your way to the Volcano National Park. After our picks ups from the Kona / Waikoloa Area we are on our way!

Your first stop is at Tex Drive-In so you can purchase malasadas, a Hawaii favorite. Next, you visit Akaka Falls, a 442-foot waterfall in the lush rainforest. Next is the world famous Rainbow Falls and quaint Hilo-town, the site of two devastating tsunamis.

We include a brief stop at the KapohoKine Adventures store to top off on provisions before heading to Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park, where your Park Ranger-trained guide will walk you through Thurston Lava Tube, past active steam vents, and into the Jaggar Museum. The return to Kona includes a stop at the beautiful Punalu`u black sand beach where endangered sea turtles feed and rest. A picnic-style lunch is included.

During the tour you can expect moderate air temperatures at sea level with cooler temperatures at higher elevations on the drive from Kona; occasional rain showers; strenuous hike across uneven and steep, rocky terrain including black lava rock.

*Red molten lava may not be seen and cannot be guaranteed. Volcanic activity changes constantly and cannot be guaranteed.
