😷 Health & Safety

Your health and safety is our top priority, and we have put special measures in place to keep all guests safe both during and after your activity.

  • Stringent Cleaning - We disinfect and sanitize all surfaces inside the tour van between each tour using a commercial-grade electrostatic spraying gun with CDC approved disinfectant. Hand sanitizer will be available to all of our guests.
  • Social Distancing - We've lowered our maximum capacity to 12 guests per tour. Masks are required for all guests and staff in the vehicle.
  • Wellness Checks - Employees receive daily wellness checks to ensure they are healthy and symptom-free. If you or anyone in your group is experiencing symptoms, we will work directly with you to cancel or reschedule your tour.

Waipio Valley Waterfall Tour

Location: Kona, Big Island

Explore majestic Waipio Valley, gorgeous Hamakua Coast, and multiple stunning waterfalls on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii on this full day of fun and exciting adventure. Discover the island’s diverse natural beauty, including multiple waterfalls, lush rain forests, and rugged sea cliffs as your guide shares history and legends.


What to Expect

After pick up in Kona and Kohala area hotels, head toward Waipio Valley while passing through Waimea and Parker Ranch, before switching to a 4WD van to descend into majestic Waipio Valley. As we traverse shallow river streams and pass by taro fields surrounded by native flora and fauna, our guide will share the stories and legends of this special place while you marvel at Hawaii Island’s tallest waterfall, Hi’ilawe Falls, which cascades down 1300 feet in the back of the valley. If weather permits, you can swim under 60-foot tall Kulaniapia private waterfall that appeared in several Hollywood movies

Afterwards, you will marvel at the rugged sea cliffs and mile-long black sand beach as you head back to Waipio Valley lookout for the stunning views as you enjoy a picnic-style lunch.

In the afternoon, we continue the drive down the scenic Hamakua Coast and visit the towering Akaka Falls, which plummets 442 feet into a stream-eroded gorge. In Hilo, you will visit the famous Rainbow Falls and descend into ancient lava caves.

The adventure ends with the return to Kona or Kohala Coast resorts via Saddle Road nestled between the world’s tallest sea mountain, Mauna Kea, and the world’s most massive mountain.

Cancellation Policy

Full price will be charged for cancellations and “no shows” unless we receive prior notice as follows: One to five guests – 24 hours; Six or more guests – 48 hours; Private charters – 72 hours.

Please be advised that we do require a minimum number of four participants on all of our tours. Although your booking has been created, the tour may be canceled due to low participation in the rare event. We will attempt to contact you and give advanced warning to any possible tour changes or cancellations.

All tours canceled due to low participation are eligible for a full refund at the time of cancellation. In the event a tour must be canceled, we are happy to offer different times or dates that will confirm the excursion will take place.
