Hawaii Coronavirus Travel Information

Current Hawaii Visitor Re-Opening Plan

  • Current Trans-Pacific Travel, All individuals traveling from out-of-state (both visitors and residents alike) required to get Valid COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to trip, and show proof of negative result to avoid 10-Day quarantine. Travelers also will have their temperatures checked upon arrival and must fill out the Safe Travels travel and health form. No testing will be provided upon arrival at the airport. Travelers who fail to provide a negative test upon arrival will be required by law to quarantine. However, if you have been vaccinated please read below:
  • Vaccine Excemption Program, the State of Hawaii launched its vaccination exception program for domestic, Hawaii-bound travelers vaccinated in the United States or U.S Territories. The program allows these travelers to bypass the state’s quarantine requirement with proof of vaccination. Travelers vaccinated in the U.S. or U.S. Territories may participate in the exception program starting on the 15th day after their second dose of the Pfizer or Modern vaccine -- or starting the 15th day after their single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
  • Current Inter-Island Travel, effective June 15th Gov. David Ige announced the end of restrictions for inter-county travel. Inter-island travelers no longer need to take a COVID-19 test or quarantine, regardless of their vaccination status or where they were vaccinated. In addition, travelers entering the state who have been vaccinated in Hawaii may bypass the quarantine without a pre-travel test. If entering the state via outer islands, such as Maui, Kauai, or Big Island. Please read above for current trans-pacific travel regulations.
  • As of June 11th, Island of Oahu is in Tier-4 of their reopening plan. Households will be able to have outdoor gatherings at beaches and parks of no more than 25 people, and indoor gatherings of 10 people. Social establishments such as dance/nightlife/karaoke up to 50% capacity if all attendees are tested or show proof of full vaccination.
  • Effective September 13, 2021, the City & County of Honolulu will require all guests 12 years of age and older to show proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours of entry with picture ID to enter luau, commercial recreational boating, restaurants dine-in service, gyms, bars, arcades, and more. Retail and grocery stores not effected by this mandate. Most tours and activities will be available.

With high standards of gear sanitation and limited time interacting with guide above the water, learning to scuba dive in Waikiki is a great way to maintain social distance while experiencing an exciting activity surrounded by nature. Boat tour operations will be running at half capacity in order to allow for social distancing and separate households will be asked to sit on opposites sides of the boat.
