Holokino Hawaii LLC is a locally owned and operated Hawaiian Canoe Sailing experience based out of the Kahala Hotel on Oahu’s South Shore. Holokino Hawaii provides riders with an authentic cultural tour of Oahu’s Kona district from the vantage point of the ocean looking back towards land.
Guests will have the opportunity to participate in Hawaii's most traditional ocean experience, a voyage aboard a Hawaiian Sailing Canoe. The trip will include a guided historical tour of the various Ahupua'a (land divisions) while learning about Polynesian non-instrument navigation. Guest Voyagers will have the opportunity to practice basic way finding techniques that have been used by Navigators for centuries throughout the Pacific.
Holokino Hawaii was founded by Austin Kino, a lifelong Maunalua bay resident who for the past ten years has trained as an Apprentice Navigator aboard Hawaii’s historic voyaging canoe the Hokule’a. Austin is a USCG Certified Captain and in 2016 was recognized by Hawaii Business Magazine as Hawaii’s 20 for the next 20 emerging business leaders.
