What to Expect

Your lesson begins on beautiful Kāʻanapali Beach, where your instructor introduces the fundamentals of paddling, popping up, ocean safety, and wave timing before stepping into the warm Pacific. With no more than three students per instructor, you'll receive plenty of individual coaching from the very beginning.

Once you're in the water, your instructor stays close, helping you choose the right waves, fine-tune your technique, and celebrate every successful ride. The small class size means more personal attention, more feedback, and more opportunities to catch waves than larger group lessons.

Whether you're introducing your child to the ocean for the first time or finally checking surfing off your own bucket list, the lesson is tailored to your pace and ability. By the end of your session, you'll leave with more than just a few rides. You'll carry the excitement of standing on your first wave and the confidence to paddle back out the next time you see surf rolling toward the shore.

Which Lesson is Right for You?

Group Lesson - The best choice for most beginners. You'll surf with other guests in a relaxed, encouraging atmosphere while benefiting from Maui's industry-leading 3:1 student-to-instructor ratio.

Semi-Private Lesson - Great for couples, families, and friends who want a more personal experience without booking a completely private lesson.

Private Lesson - The ultimate one-on-one experience with an instructor dedicated entirely to you. Ideal for first-time surfers, guests wanting maximum coaching, and required for children ages 8 and under to ensure the safest and most enjoyable experience.
