Zipline in North Kohala

Tour Highlights

Feel the rush of wind, wild forest, and open sky as you soar above North Kohala’s ancient canopy, with waterfalls below and the Kohala Coast stretching out in the distance.

  • Fly through Kohala’s forest canopy at speeds up to 45 mph
  • Cross elevated sky bridges between tree-level platforms
  • Glide from tree to tree and ascend Hawai‘i’s only tree-based spiral staircase.
  • Take in Kohala Coast views from above
  • Ride off-road through private land to reach the course

Quick Local Tip: Don’t let the height of the course intimidate you. Guests consistently praise the equipment, clear instruction, and guides’ attention to detail, making the experience feel secure even when you’re high in the canopy.

What to Expect

Leave the developed coastline behind and travel off-road in a six-wheel-drive Pinzgauer as the route climbs deep into Kohala’s dense forested interior.

At the top of the course, certified canopy guides prepare you for your journey through the trees and explain how to zipline safely from platform to platform. Then launch from the first tree-level platform and begin flying through a private nature reserve, building speed as you travel from one section of canopy to the next. Some ziplines reach speeds of up to 45 mph, creating an exhilarating rush as the forest moves beneath you.

Between ziplines, cross suspension-style sky bridges and continue deeper through the canopy. With each crossing, new views open toward the Kohala Coast, Maui, and landscapes shaped by ancient Hawaiian agriculture. A tree-level platform also offers a view toward a waterfall, giving you a quiet moment to take in the forest from above.

The course is designed to keep you moving through the canopy while minimizing the repeated stair climbing found on some zipline courses. Throughout the experience, your guides help you navigate each section while sharing stories about Kohala’s natural and cultural landscape, leaving you with both the thrill of the flight and a deeper connection to the place.
