Even if it's your first time in a kayak, you'll quickly find a comfortable rhythm as you launch into the calm morning waters of South Maui.

As you paddle along Makena's rugged volcanic shoreline, every stroke brings another hidden cove, another breathtaking view, and another chance to spot Hawaiian green sea turtles surfacing beside your kayak or gliding effortlessly beneath it. During the winter months, humpback whales are often seen offshore. By the time you slip into the water to snorkel, you've already experienced Turtle Town from one of the most intimate perspectives Maui has to offer.

After reaching a secluded reef, your guides secure the kayaks before leading a relaxed snorkel through Turtle Town's vibrant underwater world. Colorful reef fish, octopus, eels, rays, and countless tropical species share these reefs with the turtles that have made this coastline famous. Afterward, enjoy fresh Hawaiian pineapple before an easy paddle back to shore, taking in one last look at Maui's spectacular southern coastline.
