What to Expect

The lesson begins with an introduction on the beach, where our professional instructors guide you through SUP fundamentals. This on-land briefing covers paddling technique, ocean etiquette, and balance. Once you're ready, it's time to step into the calm waters off Kalama Park, where your instructor will ensure you feel steady and confident as you begin to paddle.

Throughout the lesson, you'll practice maintaining balance and paddling smoothly, with tips on how to ride gentle waves. Keep an eye out for Hawaiian Green Sea Turtles, often seen gliding through these calm waters. With personalized attention from the instructor, you'll be standing and paddling in no time—whether you're a first-timer or have limited experience.

Our instructors are committed to making sure every participant, regardless of age or athletic ability, stands up and enjoys paddling by the end of the session. The emphasis is on fun, safety, and skill-building, allowing you to enjoy the ocean and build a foundation for future SUP adventures.

Private SUP Lessons

Our Private & Semi-Private SUP lessons are available daily. This is a great option for couples, family members, and close friends to enjoy a 1-on-1 experience with a private instructor. In our private and semi-private setting you will get immediate and direct attention for your instructor. This enhances your progress in learning to SUP more quickly and complete. We recommend taking your lesson early in your island stay so that you can come back and use your new skills on the warm waters of Maui.

We do not have a minimum age, due to kids being so different. However, if the child is 8 and under, we highly recommend a parent take the lesson with them. Families have a blast surfing together!
