What to Expect

Your surf lesson begins at Kalama Beach Park, where you'll be greeted by your friendly, professional instructor. The session kicks off with an important ocean safety briefing, followed by a land-based lesson on the fundamentals of surfing. During this introduction, you'll learn how to balance on the board, proper paddling techniques, and how to “pop up” once you're ready to ride a wave.

Once the basics are covered, it's time to head into the water. The calm, rolling waves of Kalama Beach are perfect for beginners, making it easier to practice your new skills. Your instructor will assist you as you paddle out to the surf break, positioning you correctly to catch your first wave. With their guidance, you’ll feel the rush of standing up on the board for the first time and gliding along the ocean's surface. Group Surf Lesson

Our group surf lessons are intentionally kept small, with a maximum of six surfers per instructor. This ensures a high level of attention for each participant. A minimum of two people is required to book a group lesson, making it a great option for families or friends looking to share the experience. For young children, we recommend booking a private or semi-private lesson for more focused instruction.

Semi-Private Lesson

For a more personalized experience, the semi-private lesson offers your own instructor for a smaller group setting. Ideal for couples, friends, or families, this option provides more tailored instruction and allows for quicker progress without the larger group dynamic.
