What to Expect
Depart from Ala Wai Boat Harbor in the heart of Waikīkī aboard a comfortable catamaran as your captain heads offshore in search of Hawaiʻi's wintering humpback whales. From December through April, these magnificent giants migrate from Alaska to Hawaii's warm waters to breed, give birth, and care for their calves.
During the tour your captain and crew will motor the catamaran where the whales have been most active in search of full size 50ft long whales while keeping watch for unforgettable behaviors like towering breaches, tail slaps, pectoral fin waves, and spyhops. You may even spot a mother swimming alongside her newborn calf, which would already be an astounding 15ft long and weighing nearly 2000lbs.
Throughout the cruise, your captain shares insights into humpback whale behavior, migration, and the conservation efforts that protect these incredible animals. While cruising, we will also keep an eye out for other beautiful marine life that also consider the waters of Waikiki home, such as flying fish, turtles, dolphins, and more.
