Fire Dance Dinner Show in Kilauea

Set against the lush beauty of Kauaʻi’s North Shore, the Ahi Lele Fire Show is one of Hawaiʻi’s most unforgettable cultural experiences. This weekly evening event in Kilauea, just a few minute drive from Princeville resorts, combines a freshly prepared Hawaiian-style dinner with the thrill of Polynesian fire dancing, live drumming, and storytelling. Recognized by USA Today as one of the Top 5 Family Attractions in Hawaiʻi, it’s a spectacular evening for all ages. Whether you’re looking for an alternative to a crowded luau or simply a unique night out near Princeville, this fiery celebration of Hawaiian culture delivers an experience you’ll remember long after the torches fade.

What to Expect

As the sun begins to set over Kauaʻi’s North Shore, guests arrive at the beautiful Anaina Hou Community Park’s Porter Pavilion in Kilauea at 5:30 PM. The evening opens with a warm welcome and a buffet dinner featuring local flavors such as smoked kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, fresh vegetables, island-style sides, and tropical desserts. Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are thoughtfully included. A selection of beer, wine, cocktails, and the house-made Anaina Hou Mai Tai are available for purchase to pair with your meal. VIP guests receive a complimentary beverage of their choice.

At 6:45 PM, the atmosphere shifts as the conch shell echoes through the pavilion, signaling the start of the entertainment. Music and hula set the stage, introducing the audience to the rhythms and traditions of Hawaiian culture. Shortly after, the lights dim and the fire comes alive, this is the moment the Ahi Lele Fire Show begins.

Coppin Colburn and his ʻohana (family) captivate the crowd with their mastery of Polynesian fire dance, storytelling, and drumming. Flames swirl against the night sky as performers demonstrate skill, strength, and artistry in a breathtaking display that’s both thrilling and deeply rooted in cultural tradition. Guests of all ages are drawn in by the heat, the music, and the vibrant storytelling that ties the performance together.

General admission seating is first-come, first-served, while VIP ticket holders enjoy reserved front-row seats for an up-close view of the action. The pavilion is covered, ensuring the show continues rain or shine. The evening concludes around 8:30 PM, leaving you with a true sense of Hawaiian culture, community, and celebration.
