Lahaina Harbor Boat Tours
Following the devastating August 2023 wildfire that swept through Lahaina Town, the Small Boat Harbor sustained significant damage, with vessels destroyed, infrastructure impacted, and operations brought to a halt during the initial recovery phase. Since then, extensive cleanup and restoration efforts including debris removal, environmental mitigation, and structural repairs have allowed Lahaina Harbor to officially reopen for commercial use. Today, boat tours are operating once again, though in a limited capacity with restricted permits, reduced hours, and a smaller number of approved operators. The experiences featured here represent those currently authorized to run, offering a rare opportunity to get back out on the water from Lahaina while supporting the harbor’s ongoing recovery.

Is Lahaina Harbor fully open for tours? No. The Lahaina Small Boat Harbor is in a limited reopening phase, with only some vessels operating and many still restricted. Expect reduced activity compared to pre-2023 levels.
Can I walk around Lahaina Harbor? No. Access is controlled, and visitors must stay on designated pathways. The harbor remains part of an active recovery zone with restricted areas.
Are tours operating from Lahaina Harbor again? Yes—but selectively. Some operators have returned, while others still depart from alternative locations. Availability is limited, and schedules may change.
Are there bathrooms and visitor facilities at the harbor? Not reliably. Public restrooms, check-in areas, and services are still limited or unavailable, as infrastructure is still being rebuilt.
Where do Maui boat tours depart now? Many tours still operate from Maʻalaea Harbor and Kāʻanapali Beach
