Lahaina Harbor Boat Tours (currently closed)

Closure and Reconstruction Efforts

In August 2023, Lahaina experienced a significant fire that profoundly impacted the town and its historic Small Boat Harbor. This tragic event has temporarily affected our ability to offer boat tours from Lahaina, as recovery and restoration efforts are currently underway.

Division of Boating and Ocean Recreation announced the three-year reconstruction timeline for the Lahaina Small Boat Harbor on April 11, 2024. The harbor's full restoration includes rebuilding facilities, docks, moorings, and utilities, with further steps needed such as debris removal and dredging.

The U.S. Coast Guard has so far removed 95 vessels inside and outside of Lahaina Harbor and has made extensive progress on cleanup of fire damage and debris.

Now that the majority of cleanup is finished. Pacific Fuels, fuel system vendor for Lahaina Small Boat Harbor, is in the process of rebuilding the fire-damaged, above-ground portion of the fueling system. This is the first step in reconstruction to allow West Maui boaters to refuel. However, the harbor is currently only accessible by water being that it is in the current "restricted zone".
