What to Expect

Your day kicks off in Hawaii Kai’s private marina, set in the upscale suburban edge of Honolulu. Check in, stash your gear, and feel the anticipation build as you wait on the back deck for your ride. The shuttle boat slices through calm, emerald-green waters, weaving past sleek yachts and out into Maunalua Bay, where the water turns a dazzling shade of blue and the skyline explodes into view.

When you reach the floating activities island, the tempo picks up. A quick safety briefing, a snug life jacket, and optional goggles later, you’re wading across the partially sunken platform toward your Yamaha VX jet ski. From here, the setting is pure O‘ahu magic, Koko Crater’s rugged slopes dominate the eastern horizon, Diamond Head shimmers far to the west, and Koko Head’s Portlock Point shields the bay from pounding trade winds, keeping the surface glassy and primed for speed.

The moment you hit the throttle, everything changes. The engine roars to life, spraying saltwater in your wake as you carve across the designated course. Each turn tightens your grip, every straightaway begs for more speed. Tandem riders can hit the switch-out buoy to swap drivers mid-session, so both of you get a taste of the driver’s seat. The combination of wind, water, and sheer horsepower delivers an adrenaline rush that’s impossible to forget.

When your time is up, glide back to the platform, heart pounding and grinning ear-to-ear. The shuttle returns you to shore, where your ride lives on in the photos and videos, sometimes perfectly crisp, sometimes kissed by a salty blur, always proof you conquered Maunalua Bay at full throttle.

Requirements & Restrictions

• Pricing is per person (two tickets for tandem rides, one ticket for solo)
• Must be 16+ to drive solo; ages 12–15 may drive with an adult
• Minimum age: 5 years old to ride with an adult (18+)
• Pregnant women may not participate
• Jet ski weight capacity: approx. 450–500 lbs.
• No alcohol, drugs, or marijuana vape pens allowed
• Must stay within the designated state-regulated course area
• Swimwear and towels recommended; hats and sunglasses at your own risk
• Spray sunscreen must be applied before boarding any boat
