Quick Local Tip: As the sun drops, glance mauka (toward the mountains) into Lualualei Valley. Here the Wai‘anae Range often lights up in deep purples and fiery orange, a color show just as beautiful as the horizon and one most guests forget to turn around for.

What to Expect

The tour begins at the Ko Olina Marina, a short walk from the major resorts and vacation rentals in the area. Upon check-in, guests are welcomed aboard the Hololeʻa Kai, a sleek and comfortable 53-foot Gold Coast catamaran built for coastal sailing. As you leave the marina and cruise along Oʻahu’s leeward shoreline, the boat’s cushioned deck and open-air design provide sweeping views of sunlit beaches, green valleys, and distant peaks.

Throughout the sail, the crew shares local knowledge and keeps a lookout for Hawaiian spinner dolphins, often seen leaping beside the vessel. From mid-December through March, there's also a chance to witness migrating humpback whales surfacing offshore, an awe-inspiring seasonal highlight.

As the sun lowers over the Pacific, the sky gradually shifts into a vibrant spectrum of reds, oranges, and soft purples. Guests enjoy complimentary drinks from the onboard bar (beer, wine, or cocktails) and a spread of tasty appetizers.
