Kauaʻi Backcountry Adventures takes guests beyond the usual visitor routes and into remote parts of the island through mountain tubing and ziplining. Their adventures combine outdoor fun with Kauaʻi’s natural scenery, plantation history, and exclusive access to lands normally closed to the public.
Founded in 2003 by sixth-generation kamaʻāina siblings Kelley and David Carswell, the company helped restore sections of the former Līhuʻe Plantation irrigation system now used for its Mountain Tubing Adventure. Today, younger sister Karin Carswell Guest continues the family tradition, keeping Kauaʻi Backcountry Adventures locally owned, family operated, and focused on responsible access to Kauaʻi’s historic backcountry.
