Quick Local Tip: You’ll be surfing Canoes, Waikiki’s most famous beginner break. With long, playful waves that give you time to look up, not just down at your feet. As you glide, take a moment to watch Diamond Head line up ahead and Waikiki Beach stretching beside you, turning the ride into a moving postcard.

What to Expect

After a short walk from your hotel you will meet us at Waikiki Beach, near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue. Here you will meet your personal surf instructor, Sparky. From there you will be give your surfboard and taught the basics of surfing during a 10 minute land lesson. During the land lesson you will learn about the how to paddle, stand up and ride the wave.

You will then enter the water and begin your lesson. Your instructor will assist you in paddling out to the surf break. Once in position your surf instructor will gently push you into the rolling waves with the perfect timing only an expert can provide.

Now all you have to do is stand up and enjoy the long and thrilling ride of surfing. It truly is that easy and ton of fun!

Private Lesson - Enjoy one-on-one instruction with your own dedicated surf coach. Ideal for first-timers, young children, or anyone wanting personalized guidance. 1 student per instructor

Semi-Private Lesson - Share the experience with your partner, family member, or friends while still receiving plenty of individual coaching. 2–3 students per instructor

Private Group Lesson - Perfect for families and groups who want to learn together while keeping the lesson exclusive to your party. 4–6 students per instructor

Private Kids Lesson - Designed specifically for children ages 4–15, with patient, one-on-one instruction focused on safety, confidence, and fun. 1 child per instructor

We are located within walking distance of Waikiki hotels and resorts. We meet at Waikiki Beach, Honolulu. Off of Kalakaua Avenue, just by the Duke Kahanamoku statue.
