Small Waikiki Sunset and Swim Catamaran

Location: Waikiki, Oahu

Tour Highlights

This small-group sunset sail off Waikīkī lets you float, breathe, and watch the day melt into color from the quiet deck of a catamaran. Then slip into warm, open water for a peaceful swim as the sky turns pink, purple, and orange as the city fades behind you.

  • Sail a small-group catamaran for an intimate Waikīkī sunset experience
  • Cruise toward the Gold Coast with panoramic views of Diamond Head
  • Enjoy a refreshing offshore swim in calm Waikīkī waters
  • Bring your own beverages for a relaxed, open-deck evening vibe
  • Watch Friday-night fireworks from a front-row ocean vantage

Quick Local Tip: Don’t skip the swim just because the sun sits lower in the sky. The late-afternoon light makes the water reflect a golden glow and keeps the ocean comfortably warm. Bring a towel and a long-sleeve layer for the breezy sail back so you can stay cozy after your dip.

What to Expect

Guests will meet at the Ala Wai Boat Harbor, tucked just off the edge of bustling Waikīkī. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by the friendly crew and guided aboard a clean and comfortable sailing catamaran designed for small groups—offering plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the ride.

As the boat pulls away from the harbor, the shoreline of Waikīkī slowly comes into full view, framed by the ever-majestic Diamond Head and a sky that starts to shift into the warm tones of late afternoon. The first stop is a brief swim break just offshore, where you can slip into the calm, clear waters for a refreshing dip. There’s no snorkeling on this tour, but the swim is a great way to cool off and immerse yourself in the Pacific’s calm embrace.

Back onboard, the catamaran cruises toward the Gold Coast, a stretch of coastline known for its dramatic views and luxurious oceanfront properties. As the sun nears the horizon, colors begin to dance across the sky with burnt orange, soft lavender, and fiery pink casting golden reflections across the water and the glassy windows of Waikīkī’s high-rises.

Guests are welcome to bring their own beverages (no glass containers), and with a drink in hand and camera at the ready, you’ll enjoy an uninterrupted view of one of Hawaiʻi’s most photographed moments: sunset over the Pacific.

If you’re sailing on a Friday, the tour concludes with a special treat—the weekly Waikīkī fireworks show. Watching the fireworks from the open ocean offers a completely different perspective, with glittering reflections on the water and the skyline twinkling behind. It’s a magical way to cap off an evening sail.
