Kaula Luau is a Native Hawaiian–led production created by the Hawaiian Council, an organization dedicated to advancing culture, community, and opportunity through authentic storytelling. Guided by a deep commitment to cultural integrity, the luau is shaped by respected practitioners across every layer of its creation—from narrative and choreography to music and performance ensuring each element reflects the values, traditions, and lived experiences of Hawai‘i.
At the helm is Kipe Ebana, Director of Entertainment and producer of Kaula Luau, whose four-decade career includes leadership roles in some of Hawai‘i’s most renowned productions, including Old Lahaina Luau, ʻUlalena, and Paradise Cove. His vision centers on connection to ʻohana, kūpuna, and ʻāina while fostering a culture of excellence among the cast and creative team. The story is written by Moses Goods, with choreography and musical direction shaped by Tiana Nonosina Liufau and Kayla Faʻamaligi, and cultural guidance from Mehana Hind to ensure authenticity and proper protocol.
More than a performance, Kaula Luau is a living expression of Hawaiian identity and continuity. As part of the Hawaiian Council’s broader mission, proceeds support critical initiatives in housing, education, workforce development, and cultural preservation across the islands. Supported by Hawaiʻi Stage for technical production, Kaula Luau delivers a world-class experience rooted in purpose—where storytelling not only entertains, but strengthens community and carries culture forward.
