Quick Local Tip: The swimming hole at the end of the trail is called Kawainui, the largest and most breathtaking mountain pool on Oʻahu. It's a crystal-clear freshwater basin tucked deep in the valley and accessible only through this private property. Most locals will never lay eyes on it, making a swim here not just refreshing, but a rare privilege few visitors or residents ever get to experience.
What to Expect
Travel deep into the Koʻolau Mountains aboard a rugged 4x4 before setting out on a guided hike through one of Oʻahu's lush rainforest valleys. Following mountain streams and muddy forest trails, you'll cross freshwater creeks, discover native plants and tropical fruit, and learn about Hawaiian history, culture, and moʻolelo from your Native Hawaiian guide.
Both hikes lead to beautiful freshwater pools tucked high in the mountains, where you'll have the chance to cool off with a refreshing swim surrounded by the rainforest. Along the way, keep an eye out for wild mountain apples, lilikoi, guava, bamboo, ginger, and other seasonal plants growing throughout the valley. After your hike, enjoy a light gourmet lunch before returning from the mountains.

- Big Hiking Adventure - extends to 3.5 miles with additional creek crossings and more time exploring the backcountry.

Requirements
- Minimum age: 10 years old
- Closed-toe hiking shoes are required
- Trails include uneven terrain, stream crossings, mud, loose gravel, and slippery sections
- Guests should be comfortable hiking on natural mountain trails
- Not recommended for guests with significant knee or hip issues, vertigo, or a fear of heights

There is ample parking at the mall and public restrooms. When entering the parking lot head to the right hand section and park in the rear – Youʻll see the 4x4 Off-Road Van near the Aloha General Store ready to go!
Cancellation Policy
Customers will receive a full refund with 24 hours notice of cancellation. Customers will also receive a full refund in case of operator cancellation due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
