Jamie O’Brien School of Surf brings the experience and personality of one of Hawaiʻi’s most accomplished professional surfers to the welcoming waves of Waikīkī. Founder Jamie O’Brien grew up on Oʻahu’s North Shore, became one of the youngest surfers to win the Pipeline Masters, and built a career around surfing some of the world’s most demanding waves.

For his Waikīkī surf school, Jamie takes that lifetime of experience and makes it approachable. He personally selects and trains a team of local instructors chosen for their surfing ability, ocean knowledge, professionalism, and ability to teach. Lessons are geared toward beginners and first-time surfers, with instruction that builds confidence while keeping the experience relaxed and fun.

Located directly on the beach at Waikīkī, the school offers surf lessons along with stand-up paddleboarding and bodyboarding. It’s a chance to learn in one of surfing’s most famous destinations with a team shaped by Jamie O’Brien’s decades in Hawaiʻi’s surf culture.
