Quick Local Tip: The late afternoon into nightfall is prime time for turtle sightings. After feeding out at sea during the day, turtles move back toward the river to rest. The glow from your board lights up the water beside you, making it surprisingly easy to spot turtles cruising alongside you just inches away.

What to Expect

Meet your guide at the private beach launch in Haleʻiwa just before sunset, where you'll receive a brief paddleboarding lesson before heading onto the calm waters. Glow stick necklaces add a fun touch as your group paddles toward the horizon to watch the North Shore sunset from the water.

As daylight fades, continue into the peaceful Anahulu River, where the experience transforms. Underwater LED lights illuminate the water beneath your board, casting vibrant colors across the sandy bottom and coral reef while creating a surreal nighttime glow unlike anything you'll experience during the day.

Throughout the tour, your guide stays nearby, helping guests of all experience levels enjoy a relaxed paddle through the calm river and bay. Keep an eye out for sea turtles and tropical fish that occasionally glide through the illuminated water before returning to shore with a completely different perspective of Oʻahu's North Shore after dark.
