Quick Local Tip: You’ll be surfing Canoes, Waikiki’s most famous beginner break. With long, playful waves that give you time to look up, not just down at your feet. As you glide, take a moment to watch Diamond Head line up ahead and Waikiki Beach stretching beside you, turning the ride into a moving postcard.

What to Expect

After a short walk from your hotel you will meet us at Waikiki Beach, near the Duke Kahanamoku Statue. Here you will meet your personal surf instructor, Sparky. From there you will be give your surfboard and taught the basics of surfing during a 10 minute land lesson. During the land lesson you will learn about the how to paddle, stand up and ride the wave.

You will then enter the water and begin your lesson. Your instructor will assist you in paddling out to the surf break. Once in position your surf instructor will gently push you into the rolling waves with the perfect timing only an expert can provide.

Now all you have to do is stand up and enjoy the long and thrilling ride of surfing. It truly is that easy and ton of fun!

Private Lessons

Private lessons give you 1 on 1 time with your instructor’s undivided attention. This is ideal for young children, or people with specific surfing related goals and who will be surfing regularly, or if you just want extra attention for any reason.

1 student and 1 surf instructor for the private lesson.

Semi Private Lessons

Semi private lessons are great for couples, newlyweds, siblings, friends or if you just want to have a lot of fun with others! Plan on having the most fun you’ve ever had! Sparky takes away all frustration so that you feel the pure joy of surfing as it was meant to be!

Semi-private is 2-3 people max per group.

Private Group Lesson

Group lessons are great for larger groups of friends or families. Sparky ensures that everyone is up and standing catching the waves of their lives whether beginners or intermediate surfers. Let’s all catch a party wave at Waikiki Beach!

Group-private is 4-6 people max per group.

Private Kid Lesson

Your kids will never forget taking their first surf lesson. Sparky has been specializing in surf lessons for children for over a decade and it shows. The kids love his style of teaching take to him immediately. Safety is always paramount with all of Sparky's surf lessons. Go get a massage, your kids are in the best of hands having the time of their life!

What to Bring

  • REEF SAFE sunscreen Do not apply any type of sunscreen above eyes it will run & sting
  • Swimsuit (Temperatures range between 76- 82 F. (24 – 28c). No wetsuit necessary!)
  • Towel
